Hi all. Im new to the game and liking it so far. I was wondering if an officer's jobs can be changed once they've been trained. Thanks. No, once trained you cannot take back the choice. Talents can be retrained any time. If you promote a crew member to officer, their job levels reset so you have full freedom to assign all of them. |

So if I promote a Gunner because I like his/her skills/traits I can change him into, oh, say, Diplomat/Doctor/Zealot for instance? Or would he/she still be Gunner but I could add any 2 others? |

Yes, when promoted Gunner will be reset to 1.

So your Gunner will always be a Gunner -- but if you level her up to "Gunner Lvl 8" and then Promote, you will respec her to "Gunner Lvl 1" so you can spend her Job points on a different balance between the three jobs you pick -- but the system does pick the first one for you.
This makes the selection process for Officers a little bit more complex, but still provides some great opportunities to gather the best of the best from your existing crew.
