The planet danger is only displayed in the orbital screen on a visit. If you plan to recruit high-quality crew, its value would be very useful to know in the star atlas:

If I'm not mistaken, the quadrant danger level isn't dynamically changed on the galactic map screen either according to events, so I'd be perfectly fine by reading the base level of planets in the star atlas as well.
