Eques tenebris stats aren't the same

When creating a new captain it says that the stats of the Eques Tenebris are

hull 11
armor 5
engine 13
sails 14
crew 35
cargo 40
guns 18
torpedoes 4

However when starting a game with that ship, when you look at the status menu you see that the stats actually are

hull 14
armor 7
engine 15
sails 15
crew 38
cargo 44
guns 16
torpedoes 6

If I had know that those were the actual stats the ship had, I would have used it a lot sooner. With the originally shown stats it just looked like a weaker version of the Vae Victus.

I'm playing on the Elite version on Android with a Samsung Galaxy.
