I’ve noticed that if I have buffs that have 2 or even 3 turns left during the final turn of combat (meaning, the turn during which I kill the last remaining enemies), when I hit the hourglass symbol to end the round, and my characters glom together, the buffs that had 2-3 turns left are now gone. So does ending combat count as more than one turn?
A related question, particularly for defensive buffs, if I have one turn remaining, and I end my turn, is that buff still active during the subsequent enemy turn? Or does the start of the enemy turn count as the next turn, meaning the buff is now over.

Depending on your difficulty, a certain number of turns are taken out of every buff at the end of a combat.

Yea on easy lv, it's one turn, and increases as the difficulty lve, something to plan for in harder game modes

The buffs decrees every time you hear the battle growl sound too. When conning near a shard or chest for example...again something to keep an eye on

I’m playing on normal difficulty and it seems like end of combat = -3 turns of buff. So as to my other question- if I have one turn left on, say, stone skin or pure flame shield, when I end my turn am I still getting those bonuses while the enemy attacks me? Or does it end effectively when I end my turn, before the enemy starts their turn?

It is difficulty dependent.

It is difficulty dependent. Can you be more specific? I've always wondered about that. When I have 1 turn of buffs left at the end of my turn, I've been assuming the buffs will still be effective on the enemy's turn.

Yes, if the buffs have 1 duration left they last until the start of your next turn. The difficulty dependent part is how many turns all buffs are reduced at the end of combat.

Can you be more specific? It's quite simple. Each time you leave combat, a number of of extra turns are played. It's something like 2×Difficulty, which amounts to 8-or-so extra turns off your buffs on nightmare, as I've heard.
