I am confused by I spent points in pistols, rifles, and evasion for my boarding pirate. Imho a pirate will not destroy the vessel, I'm there for the cargo. After I loot I will destroy it and salvage. No quarter, no mercy. However, most of my crew don't have those stats, even my pistol and soldier. Who gets those stats. I see them on my captain, but I usually will not send my captain into battle.

Jobs like Soldier, Pistoleer, Swordsman, Assassin, Bodyguard all get combat skills.

Ty, how are those allocated. Example: I have a starting soldier (crew) level 1 job with gives 3 rifle, that's all she has in her stat sheet. On character creation I did 4 evasion and she has 1 (3 if I promote her).

As far as I know the normal crew does use its bonus skill points without being promoted if they are either: a skill that job has normaly or are combat skills (Weapon skills and evasion not sure about tactics and stealth).
Your soldier has 3 points in rifles (from her jon) and 3 points in evasion (1 from her job and 2 are bonsu points)

Let me explain better.
Upon character creation I chose 2 pistol, 2 rifle, 2 blade, 4 evasion.
Character I'm referencing is a regular crew soldier I began the game with. She us a character level of 2 with a soldier skill of 1. The skill gives her 3 rifle and 1 evasion Her stat sheet lists 0 (2) repair, 1 (3) evasion, and 3 rifle. Her traits are classically trained for a 10% all accuracy and highbrow which increase her pay $2 every level and morale penalty since she is paid as a crew member vs. an officer.

I do not understand what the character creation has to do with it. The character creation refers to your captain but not to any crew member. That said a skillset for your captain as you described it seems suboptimal as you can never use several weapon skills simulataniously (with the exeption of Pistol and Blade). I would suggest to either take pistol/blade or rifle but not all together.

So, when I chose pistols, blades, etc., thatis only for my captain?

So, when I chose pistols, blades, etc., thatis only for my captain? Yes. Your Skills and Attributes choices in character creation are only for the captain.

That makes more sense to me. I don't send my Captain into combat so those can be allocated elsewhere. Thank you. Unfortunate that this go around I managed an easy TP4 from Faen and on my map I can run a lot of power converters and capital ship components. You can delete this thread if you like.
