Heroes of Steel Update #118: At the Gates

Update #117 follows on the major SIEGE milestone to patch all the reported bugs in the game's final dungeon and climatic conclusion. We've fixed a ton of small issues with chests, bloodstone crystals and the loot tables. We've helped resolve some issues where players could get stuck in the middle of the Barbican level or were unable to reach an area of the Axia Ruins. Finally, the world map now correctly gauges your location.

This also fixes the iOS specific crash at the start of the final level.

The next major content add to Heroes of Steel will be the 9th character, as voted in by our Patreon community. The votes are being cast right now for her name, and then we'll be moving on to her meta angle and style.

I'm on Android and still have 5.03, when to You plan an update?

Without it the game is really confusing. I'm in Fierhold, which isn't on the map (showing I'm in the Lodge). When I go west, I appear on a hunting trial to the east (on world map), but in the north (in game). When I go north to Axios Ruins, I appear deep south on the world map.

TBH, after waiting, I kinda forgot what I'm supposed to do. I have three open quests (ask about a parth to the Sur Relliar in the Stone Bastion) - but didn't I do that? Or am I supposed to meet the mages now? Or go through Axios Ruins to the glacier and final levels?

5.0.6 just went out to Android to get it up to the 5.0.5 level of features. Nothing new, but did need a new version number due to some release shenanigans.

So, this is the end of this game? Final boss and all? Spoiler / question and a suggestion.

I entered the barbican yesterday. Butchered my way through hordes upon hordes till the demon came... which took me 3 hours. In non stop combat.
But before this final round my battery died. Plugging the tablet (Android) in didn't help and all my progress is gone.

Long combat encounters are a thing in this game, but man - you need an exit safely during combat option. I don't always have three hours.
I'm a bit angry now and don't know when I'll pick the game up again - if ever. I'll keep the 5/5 rating though, the game deserves it

Wonder if this combat time is unusual or my team is odd. My mega damage dealer is Tamilin, she does 500-1500 dmg in her turn. Mage does up to 700 nad cleric 200 AOE. Outlander does 150 but is indestructible. He just stands there, surrounded by orcin warlords, arrogance demon and all that and I don't even have to heal him.

With beasts up to 3500 hp, all their moving around... the combat can be tiring.

Sorry to hear it took so long g. I would consider trying to find ways to make Vraes a little stronger, he sounds like the ultimate tank but can't contribute. On my last run through the Barbarian, he was using Juggernaut and killing 3-6 enemies a turn (the team preps 'em, he kills 'em), not to count the extra kills coming from the rest of the team.

I am not sure what you mean by "all progress was lost" but I am very sorry to hear it. The game saves every single turn, so in the case of a power outage, you will at most lose a single turn.

The only problem with the saves is when you close game before end of your very first combat turn.
Another possibility to have corrupted save is if you've got a forced shutdown at the very moment the game was writing save files. But the chance for this happening is extremely minuscule.
You should have stopped playing the moment you got your red flag from the power manager, really. You have only yourself to blame.

I dunno, you said "stopped playing" in context of a TB game. Can you really blame him or her?
