Hello again. Loving this game, it has totally sucked me in.
How do Latent Talents work? These are the talents in parenthesis. They come from skill points spent on my Captain, but I see them on crew members also. What do they affect?

The numbers in parentheses only apply to officers. Unless you promote them, you don't get those bonuses.

changed the title to help others who might search -- those are skill bonuses, not talents.
You can just hover over the skill itself to see the explanation.

That information is covered in the hovers and the Talent descriptions list the skill they use. |

Follow-up question: If I promote a crew member who has (5) Doctor to an officer, but he doesn't have a medical-related job, does the skill bonus apply now anyway?
