For those who have now finished the game- did anyone find the battle at the throne of the all-father kind of easy?
For reference I am playing in normal difficulty, I have Vraes, Kjartan, Kyera, and Tamilin. My party was all level 64 and the enemies were all level 65.
I started out taking the chain ends clockwise from the bottom. The various trolls and whatnot that start in the center area around Wiegarn came across the center bridge at me a few at a time. Easy to dispatch in between the new monsters that pop up as you move around the map to the next chain ends.
Wiegarn came my direction sometime after the first chain link... and he could barely get a hit in, as long as I kept him down to 1 AP with ethereal anguish. He was a non-factor. Really the only challenging part was as I moved toward the left side of the map, there’s a spot where about 7 drake eggs pop up at long range so it takes a few turns to hit all of them with curses down to 1 AP to stop them from summoning. Meanwhile at that point there were a few stragglers of the orcin ravagers and such coming from the center of the map. All while Wiegarn is just annoying us landing a hit maybe 1/5 tries.
So anyway by the time I got the third chain link, all of Wiegarn’s buddies were gone and it was easy to dispatch him. He could barely hit us, and meanwhile my heroes were combining for 4000+ points of damage against him per turn. Same story when Ravenna came at us. She was no more effective at hitting us, so it was just a matter of wearing her down over maybe 5-6 turns.
I’m not what I’d call a highly skilled player. Many of the other boss fights (especially against the Seer Lords) I found quite tough with a lot of getting killed repeatedly. But I was also surprised the enemies in the final scene were only one level higher than my heroes. It seemed routinely throughout the game I was facing enemies 2-5 levels higher.
Just wondering if others also found this battle easy...
