Does ship speed have an effect on how quickly I move on map?

It affects the gameplay but not the visual. Less turns pass when you travel the same distance in a high Speed ship versus a low Speed ship. The real life time required to cross the distance does not change.

Gotcha thanks. Yeah I figured the visual wouldn't change but yeah the important thing is turns getting more profit in less time as well as more xp vs the ever increasing difficulty clock.
