Hi everybody!
I's just me, or Jyeeta Xeno's Spore Infestation are indeed a way much stronger OpFor than Jyeeta Xeno boarding parties?
I'm playing through the Jyeeta Awakening story-line with an end-game-equipped 40th-level crew in a souped-up, top-of-the-line Sword Battlecruiser and so far, even though I've always defeated any Jyeeta boarding party daring to board my void-ship, as well as utterly destroyed any Brood space vessel I met in the Void, I've always lost any on-planet crew battle against the Brood Spore Infestation I met.
Does anybody know whether mine has been a pure and simple matter of RNG's bad luck, or are Jyeeta Spore Infestation OpFor indeed much stronger than Jyeeta boarding parties?

I will take a look. As far as I could see from first glance, they're different but not a lot stronger.
If we do have an issue, I'll track it down and get it fixed for this upcoming patch.
If you want to send your saved game in, I can take a look!

I concur that the Jyeete ground combat teams are generally much stronger.
In ship combat during the Jyeeta war, I encounter Jyeeta captains that range from a little over my level (rarely) to well under it--and in boarding combat, the crew level varies, with the most experienced combatants having about the same level as the captain, and some at several levels lower. Thus, since the last time I went through the Jyeeta war my captain was around level 28, I never encountered a boarding opponent over level 30 (give or take a level or two), and often saw opponents under 20.
In ground combat, I frequently see level 38-40 Jyeeta--and, unlike in boarding combat, they're always of a uniform level. During the last run-through, I did sometimes see ground teams as low as (IIRC) 24, but in general it's ground combat I fear with Jyeeta, not boarding combat, and my only losses (including one that wiped out my entire team, the run-through before last) have come in ground combat.
That being said, you can beat level 40 Jyeeta with a ground combat crew in the mid-20's--do a search online and you'll find a few threads on the subject. Personally, I'm maniacal, when starting a game, about rerolling until I get a decent Doctor officer (with a top initiative roll of at least 24, usually), and hopefully either a good Soldier or a good Swordsman among the crew. I'm then very quick to get a recruiting talent on the Quartermaster officer (by taking one level in Commander early on), and I recruit until I've got a decent crew. Once I've got a big enough ship, I generally run with three combat crew officers--Doctor/Combat Medic/Military Officer (for Tactical Edge), Swordsman/Assassin/Wing Commando, and Soldier/Bounty Hunter/Xeno Hunter--and two regular crew, a Soldier (with shotgun) against humans and a Wing Commando (or, early on, a Swordsman) against Xeno.

I agree, i just had a 20+ lvl team of 2 xeno hunters, 1 exo scout, and 1 combat medic literally destroyed and my entire team only got 2 shots off. The jyetta got off 6 attacks before any of my guys even got a single turn. I just stopped doing anything to do with that Jyetta quest as it was pointless to fight their 'spores'.
