The iOS port is locked to a particular orientation of the phone (i.e. home button always on the right). As it happens, I usually play with my phone with the home button on the left (due to the location of the power outlets in my usual lounging spot). If it's cheap to make iOS do it, it'd be cool if Battleforce would flip to match the phone's orientation.

I will look into it. Because of the way iOS works on some of the later phones, I don't think their code allows this engine to rotation while it is running.
I spent a couple of months working on this for Star Traders: Frontiers, and I will check to see if there is anything I can add to Templar Battleforce to improve the situation.

I would have thought that this would be easier in iOS. Thanks, Apple!
And, also, thanks, Trees Bros, only not sarcastically.

I wouldn't say it is Apple's fault -- more like a rough edge where Apple's SDK and game engines don't get along.
We had a partial pseudo-fix workaround for Star Traders: Frontiers, perhaps it never got pushed back to Templar Battleforce.
I will also do some investigation with my iPhone XS to see if our new engine for Cyber Knights II does better.

Don't know if such a thing exists for IOS, but on android, you can get apps which force rotate the screen for all apps (either automatically or manually locking it in one orientation) which I was able to use to solve the same issue with HoS on an old android phone.

I don't think that particular solution applies, the interaction between iOS and the drawing surface compared to Android are actually very different. I do remember those old days tho
