iPad 7, latest iOS and game version installed as of posting this. So I got to this place and couldn’t zoom in or out, only move around the map. I've had a similar bug on Android (two times so far I think). The screen is locked on my ship and I can neither zoom nor pan.
Iirc, opening another window/menu (e.g. crew or ship) fixed the problem.

I've had it on Android also, but quitting and reloading has always fixed it.

Sounds very odd, but sounds like a background app or notification is somehow taking control. Perhaps you got a phone call and ignored it? Oh phones.

A common cause of this can be accidentally snagging the edge of the screen and putting the focus on an external app or the notification tray.
