The spear class, or the fountain pen as I think of it (as it definitely resembles one!) is a mid to late game ship that's not easy to find, and features a small hold for the hull size of the vessel.
But with its durable frame and engine count 18 higher than the second place vessel, it seems this ship, with its massive arsenal is unbeatable. Does it need to be tamed? Or does the large hull/small hold balance out this killing machine?

u know actually looking back at the spreadsheet the following ships need to be revised:
Spear Class Prison Cruiser Assassin Class Titan Cruiser
All four of them violate the rules on at least one count.

PS: so get your Spear Class (original version) ASAP and dry dock it, because the design is about to change tomorrow (but included are 20 new ships, upgrades and unlocks ... so)
btw, is this a Sean Connery joke?

Lmao were I not concerned about forum guidelines it certainly would have been spelled it the way he pronounced it too, Trebeck. Okay so ships currently in use stay the same too yes?
On a personal note, it was cool seeing that flavor txt in there about metal shortages lol

On my bounty hunter Captain, I have a "fountain pen" ship that came with 60 engine, 120 crew, and 80 hold. It's been an absolute monster, but I did start to wonder if it was too much? One other thing I noticed, and perhaps I should've posted it in the bugs thread, but that same ship initially had a 35 slot torpedo hold, and when I upgraded them with the control pods (supposed to be 20%), it increased it to 55, instead of 42.

Yeah..one of those ended my stint going for level 10 in the Vae Victus, so I'm a bit biased. I lean more toward the 'open fire more' group.
Y'know, a few overpowered ships aren't bad, if say you'd tone it down to one or two in the universe. Gives you a nice present if you're lucky enough not to get smoked.

This happened to me multiple times. Not only are the ships pretty dominating, if you're facing one without having one of your own, the fight will last forever because they have an incredible amount of evasion. Hell, even when I'm in a better version of the ship they have, I find the battle lasting for substantially longer because of how often a shot misses...and that's with some pretty high skills.
