Do you generally own 2 or 3 ships through a long term Captain playthrough? Starter to a 7/42 juggernaut, or do you work in a mid game ship?

I always aim for huge carrier as my end game ship. Usually I start out with juror or paladin cutter then I do move to a 6000 mass ship for mid game...tho mainly I just load a ton of cargo and use it to do massive trading and finance my end game ship.
