I find the biggest pain in navigating is figuring out which planets have stuff on them. Can you add icons on the planets which show if they have urban spots or not? An icon as to which faction they belong to would also be nice.
Pulling up the main map every time I need water is a pain. Even then,i have to tap every single planet to figure out which ones have urban sections.
A close second to this would be to make single taps on planets show their info and double taps navigate. Your game already supports double tap option, so this is already 1/2 implemented.
Though I think the icons may be easier to implement, as you could even hard code them into the planet graphic for each planet if you really needed to.
BTW- Is the system randomly generated or is it hardcoded?

The planet icons do differ if you learn to tell them apart. There are planets with Urban, planets with Urban and Wild, and some planets with just Wild. The icons used in the starmap and the zoom map show different signs for these.
Then there are dead planets with nothing on them at all.

Oh well, anyway planet icons are simply detectable,'cause for every Planet type there's a different planet icon(as Cory said: Only Urban,Only Wild,Wild+Urban, Dead)...=) a wish could be to add more variety to planet icons...^_^ But i think it was already wondered =) and honestly I prefer in this way(more simple to detect various planet types)...

Hey Domush ... I should have responded sooner, but you do know that in the main map (not the galactic one), you can long-press any planet (or sector for that matter) right?
What will pop up will be the planet name + urban/wild zones, as well as any rumors related to it that you already have in your rumors log.

Or you could just hit "Bridge".
