This is my first post -- I was directed here from the Discord server. I hope I'm posting in the right place.
I'm currently in the Jyeeta awakening era. I went exploring in a Farfallen Rim world (there was an infestation rumor active), and I drew a Jyeeta fight card. I succeeded in killing the Jyeeta and noticed that the Jyeeta swarm count went down by 1. This wasn't part of a Jyeeta hunting mission, however.
But, when I encounter a Jyeeta ship randomly (in the Farfallen Rim also, and not part of a hunting mission), and destroy it, the swarm count does not decrease. I think it should decrease by 1 too or perhaps 2, since a whole ship is more significant than just 4 individuals.

Yep, you get bonus points for killing them in the ground or in the void. Seems like there must be some bug in the code for ships, as this is already setup and tested to work on random Jyeeta ships outside of missions and has a larger bonus than ground fighting, just as you suggested.
Will investigate!

Ok, figured this out -- you only get the bonus for fighting a Jyeeta ship in space combat at the time you click "Destroy" to nuke their ship completely. If you do not do this, you don't get the bonus. You really should, its where the money and real gain is at for hunting xeno.

I did tweak the balance of the two fights -- ground and ship -- to make ship more valuable by 2-4X.

Once you hit a score of 50/100, your count stops decreasing until you go meet the templars. You just have to know that. No messages will come up and you don't get points again until you meet them back at the fleet command. You just loose all the points you got from the missions you were assigned that would drop you below 50/100.
