How many ships can you own?

I have about 24mil in my bank roll but can't seem to buy any new ships. The only option available is trade in. Is there a limit to the number of ships I can own?
PS. I am rank 21 with all the Syndicates.

I've never reached a maximum of ships, but never really tried. Got at 15 though without issues.

Just 3 but now the purchase option is disabled wherever i go. It will only let me Trade-In.

I know it's a stupid question, but is it only in one dry dock, or all of them? And do you have free version, or elite? Cory Trese Does free version limit the amount of ships you can have?

You can have 20 ships in the game - not sure if you have a lower amount in Free though. Probably you do - I'll have to find out for you. Watch this space.

... oh on second thoughts, maybe don't watch this space diligently because let's face it, I've become a rather unreliable cat of late, so might not get an answer to you super fast.

Okay - from quick experimentation, you can have a maximum 4 ships in Free (1 ship active + 3 ships in dry dock).
For Elite, you can have 2o ships (1 ship active + 19 ships in dry dock.

Note that a useful tip for ships in dry dock is store as much Water fuel as you can in each ship before you park it in dry dock. That way, if you are running short on gas but have <cough> caused enough damage to Steel Song to get you barred from the market, or there is a trade embargo going on, you can top up without getting penalties.

Of course if you have annoyed Steel Song so much that they bar you from the star dock, then it's probably better you don't have any ships stored there anyway.
