A student of navigation hailing from more classical schools of study that pre-dated the discovery of the HW gates. Has a different set of tricks than the new school of HW Navigation.

Some talents:
Talent 1: Practiced Cartography (3 week cooldown) -- Automatically passes a failed Navigation test in any situation, including deep space travel but EXCLUDING Hyperwarp jumps
Talent 1: Circumvent Danger (6 week cooldown) -- Avoid the danger of either a Meteor Storm or Xeno Spores in orbit
Talent 1: Burst Escape (6 week cooldown) -- +45 Escape, +10 Void Resist, lasts 1 turn, usable from position 5 only.
Talent 1: Sacrificial Escort (3 week cooldown) -- -5% Defense, +10 Range Change to captial ship, +35% Craft Dodge to friendly craft for 3 turns
Talent 5: Ride the Radiation (6 week cooldown) -- Talent save for radiation storm that gives a boost in free fuel travel and faster travel momentarily.
Talent 5: Vent the Void (3 week cooldown) -- Usable from positions 2, 3 and 4 -- Buffs Ship with +10% Critical, +60 Void Dmg, Self-inflicts +15 Component Dmg/Turn, Self-inflicts +20 Morale Dmg/Turn for next 3 Turns
Talent 8: Old School Maintenance (3 week cooldown) -- Ship Ops Save

Personally I'd rather see Nav have more talents than using those talent ideas for a competing job
