Loving the game, but I'm still learning how to do things. I've fired all my torpedoes and my last boarding didn't yield any to steal. When I return to my "home planet" (the one owned by the faction that is friendly to me) the "Military Base" option is always greyed out. How the heck do I rearm my ship? I'm defenseless!  |

Hi and welcome to the forum.
You will be granted access to the military base when you get the military rank. You can get military rank by buying Promotion in the Palace. However you need good enough reputation with the faction to be able to buy promotion. Hope that helps.

You can also rearm at Indy worlds.
Independent Planets are a safe source of military goods at any time and you can trade there without being caught up in any Faction Reputation politics or conflicts.
Knowing your Indy worlds is a good way to always have a backup in case things get dicy.

Indy planets have higher prices (in most cases), and another factor is that Indy planet hardware is subtly lower quality, so you'll potentially have lower damage or hit-success rates with Indy hardware.
It's strongly recommended that you stick to genuine Cadar tech Torpedoes - hence the motto "Trust in the Cadar Bang", or "If it ain't Cadar, it's just not worth firing".

Ehy u forgot another way: loot em from defeated ships =) it's the cheapest method =P Too true. You've gotta close in real fast before they could use up their arsenal on you though and board their vessel with blinding speed, leaving a trail of killed men & raped women in your wake...  ;D |
