So when a talent uncovers a rumor (ex. Planet X has Surplus) is that uncovering a condition that is present already or is it it turning on a condition? Like in the example that a rumor says there is a surplus somewhere then would I have run into that surplus without a talent revealing the rumor?

Guys, what do you think about adding information how far (in jumps) rumor has place?

Most rumors are purchased by Contacts or spawned from Conflicts.
That part of the game doesn't care what the character knows, it just carries on like waves in the ocean. Endlessly churning and driving.

Endlessly churning and driving. Yeah that's kind of how I envisioned it being. I mean just like real life if you fly into a country that is under civil war you would experience the effects of that wether you knew ahead of time or not.

Thanks for the feedback koles. We need specifics, "every screen" is really too vague to be helpful Added this one to the list.

Does the fact that rumors are "already there" instead of spawned when you learn them change the game in any way? I'm wondering if there is some tactic or approach that is possible because the rumors are pre-existing?

I'm wondering if there is some tactic or approach that is possible because the rumors are pre-existing? One possible way that affects gameplay is if a planet has a shortage then you get better prices unloading goods. Originally I was unclear and thought that I had to uncover the rumor by using a rumor talent or else I wouldn't benefit from shortages and surpluses.

If you ever visit a locality where there is a rumor (jump into a quadrant, orbit a planet, land on a zone) you automatically learn any present Rumor.
