As title says, I'm wondering if armor helps crew mitigate damage that passes through armor/shield of the ship during ship combat.
The reason I'm wondering is because if if does, it may be worth keeping my Weapon Locker A6 on my ship. If it doesn't, it seems you can just get rid of that once you've got enough single weapons and armor for your combat team, freeing up the small component slot for something else.

I'm 99% sure crew armor doesn't affect damage taken in ship combat.

Does not affect ship damage. Torps > armr.
