Hello! With the addition of the tacticians and wardens annexes, I had a thought. First, it would be cool if we could assign specific officers to specific quarters. But more interestingly: What if matching an officer with relevant skills to their quarters (annexes, adv medical ward, etc) gave a bonus for utilizing it effectively? It could be small, like +1 to all matching stats (tacticians could give +1 to tactics and gain +1 to all the pools the annex itself provides: electronics, ops, etc. Medical ward could give +1 to doctor +the pools from that component, etc...) It could be significant, like making all the dice rolled by that officer and all the die provided by that quarters strong dice no matter what situation they are rolled in. So, again using tacticians as an example: all tactics provided by the officer in that quarters would be strong for range change, even though tactics is normally standard. 1/3 would be strong for boarding, instead of 1/3 being standard. But only for that officer's tactics and only while stationed in relevant quarters. Just a thought! I figure it's probably a lot to do but I keep hearing about these "next games" you guys have planned so I figured it was worth mentioning anyway.

kaeroku - definitely a concept we love but not something that will fit into the model of STF. We once had something called "On Station / Off Station" that would have facilitated this specific assignment model. If the crew were smaller, it could be a cool thing. Maybe a future game!

We actually tried that and it didn't work.
In the death throws where I fought to defend "ON STATION" there were about a half dozen builds where ONLY officers could be assigned to specific quarters, instead of the entire Crew.
Alas, it was also horrible. We tried, we really did.
At some point the alpha team was like "Stop, please, stop. You're embarrassing yourselves. Let it go."
