Been playing cyberlords and now cyber knights. I like both games but have a few questions about cyber knights.
1.) Does the game get harder over time similar to cyberlords? By over time I mean if I'm not really progressing is the game still getting harder every turn/day? I hope not, that's what got me to try cyber knights and take a break from cyberlords.
1a.) If it's not getting harder everyday/turn, are there certain things that trigger the game to get harder? like getting certain amount of exp or something else.
2.) I know this gets asked all the time but any links to guides? I've searched around and found a few posts that help but it will say "get Mc Fly's chip" but I don't know where Mc Fly is.
I'm mainly concerned about question one because if it's a race against the clock then I'll really need the guides since I can't explore the areas freely, figuring this out on my own if it's wasting precious time.
Thanks for any help.

The location of McFly's chip is later in this post. People who want the enjoyment of finding this for themselves should stop reading now. The fights get tougher as time goes by, but, frankly it is harder to survive your early years than your later years. Because you progress faster than your enemies do. Eventually I retire my people on the grounds that it is too easy to play them. Things also get harder based on how much heat you have. see: startradersrpg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ckrpgtalk&action=display&thread=2070 for my recent (yesterday) thought on that matter. Go visit E-street pharmacy in Southie. There are inexpensive medkits available there too, much cheaper than what is usual. Welcome to the forums.

Thanks for the fast responses and good information. I was wasting alot of time going across the map and found myself unable to really increase my money since I was constantly paying for hotels and cabs. I then bought my 2 job pda (with way to much heat) that wiped out all my money, then got ambushed and died, lol. Needless to say I started a new game and wanted to check with my original questions so I knew how to pace the game.
I think I have a better understanding of how I need to handle myself now. Thanks

Word of advice: Start a game on the easiest setting. Difficulty so far seems to only affect your death penalty.

Rephrased: No. Difficulty affects all the dice rolls, monster levels and encounter rates. I was not very clear. I confirm that you say what I mean.

Well, since it's a noob question thread, I'd be appropriate here . Maglocks: do they do anything at all yet? Does Intimidate affect the level of Heat and or Reputation after a fight? Does often/constant use of drugs have lasting effect? When I decline an unwanted quest, it stays in Connector's dialogue. The only way to skip it is to accept and then cancel - which, I believe, affects reputation. If there a way to put across him that I won't be doing this particular job with no hard feelings? There's no storyline in this game (at least, yet), right? When I fail a package delivery quest, the pack stays in my inventory, it can't be sold/dropped/opened and just stays there forever. After the update that introduced stacked items in inventory, there's suddenly 20 or so such packages (there were three before) but none of used medkits I collected after battles. In shops, though, medkits are still present. I have 9 in Electronics, and when I use a medkit the message is "Your skill in Electronics prevents the medkit from exhaustion", yet the medkit is deducted anyway.

Oh, and "preview" function on your forums doesn't work, posting instantly instead. Anyway, going on: Does the output you get when hacking have some meaning? So far looks like technobabble to me. What "nano" and "hard" tags mean in armors? From reading forums I got the impression that there will be skill\attribute caps somewhere in future releases. What will happen to a savegame if there's a skill/attribute that already is above the limit? Does (and should?) DV rate affect experience earned by doing quests? That's all I could remember so far. Thanks.

Declining a job will always have side effects, theres no reason it shouldn't
DV lowers exp gain: As its been explained elsewhere that ive seen, any event that gives exp causes a d300 roll, if > DV you gain exp
redundant packages - dump them
Dont know enough to answer the rest

Maglocks are not implemented yet. Intimidate -- if you are successful -- reduces the amount of heat you generate. If you are really worried about heat, though, you should 'stealth exit' instead of 'normal exit', and skip the intimidating. The only effect constant use of drugs has is that it empties your bank account. You can decline an unwanted mission with no hard feelings. What you cannot do is make him immediately advance to another mission without cancelling it. Cancelling always loses you some reputation. But it is not a huge loss in reputation for all that. No storyline exists as of yet. You can get leftover packagages from failed runs out of your inventory by selling them at the pawn brokers. There was a bug that stacked packages with used medkits. see startradersrpg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ckbugs&action=display&thread=2029If you are still experiencing it, add to that thread reporting what is still wrong. Include the full title of the medkits that you collected from corpses, so fallen has an easier time checking this. If the medkit is being removed from your inventory, then that sounds like a bug. If it just goes from repairing you for X to repairing you for X -1, then that is normal.

The output for hacking has meaning.
Nano and hard armours are not implemented yet.
When skill caps come in, life may be over for your exalted superior old chars.
DV effects experience doing everything. (Yay! This just started working earlier this week!)
