YY is correct ! (total XP received)
XX is the amount of XP granted multiple times NOT the number of crew that got XP as claimed.
The number of times a crew member received XP from this event is YY/XX (the same crew member can get the XP slice multiple times )..
There is no way to tell how many crew members got XP and how much XP was awarded to each ( n * XX ) ...
With green was a previous example claimed " 15 crew got 120 total" . In fact the 15 XP slice was awarded 120 / 15 = 8 times to crew..at least "Diz Goldbeze" got more than 1 slice. Diz got more from the next event.
Not complaining a crew member could get multiple slices while others none, just pointing out YY/ XX won't always tell the number of crew that got rewarded . (max number of crew that could've been rewarded n * XX)
separate issue - flying through space [SUCCESSful] skill checks ..
" 1 Crew Got XP " from this - it grants 5 slices of XP .. amount not reported by in-game log ..
IDEAL FIX : Crew List Got XP from this event. Click to expand / collapse list with Name / Jobs / Lvl / XP AMOUNT GAINED (sorted by rank then by total XP received ). Just the name, won't suffice, I don't bother learning all their names . Add captain / officer icons when appropriate .
Showing the list of XP lottery winners with the prize amounts sorted and already expanded would also be a wonderful feature/fix ..
Would help catch what XP granting sources (if any) amount wildly irregular (too much too little amounts)
If you want to maintain the mystery make it say " Up TO ZZ (new number) were awarded slices of XX XP ( YY total) " .. Boo !
Don't pay the turn number too much mind, my logging script also has bugs ATM . (correct for in-space skill checks ; wildly incorrect when generating crew for ship encounters / during orbital card games) etc..
At least it is constant for the event and still helps differentiate the events .. Long road to actually being able to also log the event that granted the XP at this stage ...
Turning in (completing) missions rewards XP (same style of XP slice lottery)
but the in-game mission report window makes no mention of it. (we rolled dice this pile vs that pile we passed, gained XX $ , gained/lost rep / rep / influence ) took xx days ..
No mention of XP even being awarded .. Where as other events as shown above at least make an attempt to log XP gain ..
Attributes/stats gained per level up / talents enabling at various levels - those are core mechanics .. On the other hand you're not treating XP like a tabu never to be mentioned behind the scene magic (the main CHAR UI does show it current accumulated value) you just make it extremely tedious for the player to associate certain actions with proportional XP gain/value ...
