Hey, just clarify, the idea wasn't for salvage, just the previous conversation was about that, my idea more fleshed out would be maybe have medical rating give crew damage protection in general, and perhaps have doctor profession skills give med bay / doctor rating multipliers to crew damage protection. The issue with playing on harder difficulty with out stacking command till you cant get hit is random crew dyeing is very punishing. Obviously thats part of the game but it would be nice if there were other ways to mitigate it than just stacking command, multiple paths to end game viable. On this question, is crew damage protection a reduction to damage or a chance of none? say you take 100 crew damage, have 10% protection, is it now 90? or 10% chance of 0? The idea really only works if its a reduction.
