Hi,
I’ve only recently started playing and am in Episode 2. My party is at level 21. I’ve been fighting my way through the icy caves in search of Baron Koda’s son. I’ve reached what must be the last part of the quest when I get to a village with a prisoner in a cell at one end and get ambushed by a lot of Orcin, including a berserker. I keep getting killed very quickly, after only a turn or two.
Are there any tricks or tips for getting through this battle? It just seems impossible because of the sheer number of enemies. I really like this game, but I’m on the point of giving up as I’m getting nowhere at the moment.
I can’t even back out of the quest and try levelling up a bit first as I can only go towards the icy caves from the last inn. Trying to leave by the other exit just sends me back.
Help!

Hi. I usually make a long slow loop to the top left hand corner of the map. There is a stream with a narrow ford across. I use this as a bottle neck so I don't get overwhelmed. From this point the fighter goes ahead to trigger the fight then immediatly falls back. The fighter and cleric hold the 'beach head' whilst the wizard and thief rain down buffs and death. Its a boring and time consuming strategy and requires a bucket-load of potions, but its never failed me yet. Hope it helps

In any big fight, there are usually enemies who get multiple attacks per round. Hit them with -AP curses so they can only attack once. I've not played for a while, but I think some special powers, like trolls' regeneration, either use 2AP or only happen if they have at least 2AP left as -AP curses seem to stop them.
