Phone: Motorola Droid X
Character: Spy
Faction: Cadar
Difficulty: Demanding
This is what happened: I was playing on Demanding as a Spy, and doing QUITE well considering some of my other recent games I might add. I was just barely level 12, stats were good, and I was sitting on about $210k. I had been raiding and blockading some Thulun planets out of my temporary haven in Delta Hydri, just repping up with the De Valtos as DV was in a Solar War with Thulun. On one of these expeditions, I encounter a particularly nasty Thulun warship, appropriately enough called a Death Frigate, that was able to close range and board me before I could inflict enough damage with my torps and guns. Given my comparatively crap Warrior stat, he was able to just barely overcome my crew kitted out with weapons and bring me down to 1 health when I managed to flee. However, crew morale was still okay (5-6) and I immediately turned around to make for repairs and rearming at Delta Hydri.
Upon completing that without incident, I was perusing the ship offerings there before I left when I decided it'd be a good idea to buy a backup ship as I was particularly flush with cash and it's generally a high priority for me to acquire a backup or two as soon as possible. A crap Repair Shuttle caught my eye as a cheap stand-in and effective enough (in the right hands) to raid and capture a better ship without the Star Dock price tag, at some point. I transferred fuel and nothing else, dry docked my main ship (the Vark Mordi, which is a fine little ship by the way), and took off to head back to Cadar space to find a doctor.
Immediately after taking off, I got the death screen saying my captain had died aboard his ship of unspecified causes.
Understandably, I was a bit miffed that I'd just lost a promising captain for no reason that I could tell. Any idea if this was a mistake on my part somewhere, or is it a bug?
