I bought star Traders, about 2 weeks ago. and I love it. When i started game i skiped basic and whent errr one below hard. i then found that to be to easy for first. 5 games. after 15 now. Farming achievements. i gone to crazy, and realised that with some early aggression and little luck you can get ahead. with fuel consumption and basicly reach, fuel usage had with other games. one game had 0.25 fuel usage. One game was about get. lvl 20 on same ship when, my crew killed me. 1 hop away from water. maybe i should blasted last 30 ships out space. but meh, I cant wait for ST2. and hopefully. i unlock all achievements, and play and see aliens and other content before st2. Im so far playing crazy (for achievement reasons). Once i get achievements. i go on playing impossible. then try earn achievements there,  . Rapid rank, is one having trouble with. and it be only one.Im a Pirate YAhh. Look at map find precious booty. I would like it if fellow pirates where. Meaner. Sending 3,000 enemy crew that able to their deaths after victory. 500 victory’s. 0 losses. You shall Fear, pirate. I think I should create treasure planet. An mythical place where. Great Draggoth left his plunder and wealth before his death. 50 years death and destruction is, soft on one man heart. |

Rapid Rank is all about getting RP - and getting it fast. Trading restricted goods under shortage situation is a fantastic way of getting RP quickly. If you get 50 artifacts traded under shortage, you can easily get enough RP to be able to "buy" your way into the Rapid Rank archives. Also, selling 50 artifacts under shortage will give you the cash needed to get said ranks. Other ways to get rank include selling records during a spy war, blockading/surveillance actions during a solar or spy war, etc. However, low level captains often have big problems doing blockade/surveillance actions just because you lack the tactics skill to pull off the job, AND if the enemy does decide to confront you, you get turned into swiss cheese very quickly. I found that being a Javat Explorer was the easiest way of getting rapid rank. You spend time on the Javat Mining World (-2,-5), which has good exploration opportunities, and an urban area so you can flip between wilderness and urban without having to do long commutes. Another place is just east of the Steel Song world called Ghactllli (13,-9). You are not far away from Gamma-Javat II (8,-2) where you can also sell stuff. Again, watch the rumors like a hawk and try and target any Weapons, Electronics, Artifact shortage rumors as quickly as possible. Good luck  |

Absolutely - you can trade records without a trade permit, and they are somewhat affordable. You get a RP boost from records, albeit at lower rates than trading the restricted goods.
Surrendering to ships when carrying records will result in confiscation unless you have a trade permit. This is the only exception to the rule where you can surrender to any non pirate ship if you aren't carrying restricted goods (or smuggling people/documents).
