Nope, they are correct. Don't expect the mega-corporations of 2217 to have any respect for the English language. Marketing won over linguistics a long, long time ago.

It was on purpose. Sometimes people get so used to thinking they have "found a bug!?!?!" that they forget we spend months coming up with the reasons for all the things on the screen.
