Now that Penetration has become more important, I wonder if it makes sense for the top-of-the line Cybernetic Hand Blades (cyberclaws) to have penetration of 4. The MT Taser unit, for reference, has Penetration of 5. I think that for 10 times the cost, the top of the line cyberclaws should be better at Penetration. While they are AP:2 and not AP:3, they are poorer in both speed (3 vs 4) and penetration. Thus I am finding that the MT taser now performs better than the top of the line cyberclaws, which before wasn't true.
The accuracy bonus (5 vs 2) is of course a big improvement, but by the time I can afford top-of-the-line cyberclaws, accuracy isn't a problem for me.
I think that speed should be changed to 'blows per attack' and 'shots per attack' to avoid confusion.

grävling - Cory and I will take a look at this one. We are also discussing the label change for "speed" but we want it to make sense and be more specific to the 13 classes of weapons. Stay tuned.

I played a few games where "rate" was the stat describing rate of fire and number of melee strikes.

Rate is pretty good. Attacks Per Turn is a tough one to fit on the screen.
Gravling -- I actually am going to admit that I had the cyber weapons filtered out when I did the balancing math for the penetration.
My fault and I agree they should be increased.

Glad to hear that the cyberclaws are going to be increased, as right now I am finding that the cybersword starting weapon of crome knucklers is more effective than cyberclaws.
Thank you.

I like 'rate' as well. Especially if we can put a note in the documentation that says rate = rate of fire (for guns) and blows per attack (for melée weapons).

By the way, where can one find the claws? I've encountered them once or twice about a month ago and have not seen them since then >_<

Made a quick run to Saytek. The implants available there are: -rage finder -dermal sheathing -mechalung -cyber heart -chipped reflexes -narvidium bones. Not a trace of cyberclaws. =\

Actually, I'm wondering if something isn't more badly broken with regards to cyberclaws. I'm not finding any cyberclaws for sale, anywhere.
Cory: Is it possible your fix removed them from the database of salable items? (I've noticed that many shops have a high-end progression that goes through three sets of head-gear, starting w. the 40 size memory implant and ending w. the 100, that makes me suspect there are missing items that used to be for sale in that slot.

My old saved characters who should have hand blades don't. And martial artist runners who should be so equipped instead are wearing the 'useless in a fight' gloves. You can remove these gloves and find normalheavy gloves underneath.
edit: hmm, no, some of my old chars still have their cyberclaws 3, so its more complicated.
