The description of the Blasta Gun Power 6, Penetration 2, Accuracy 3, Ammo 5 Pistol, Range 3, AP 3, Speed 1, Y800
says: Constructed of lower quality Street parts, the Blasta Gun cannot boast much accuracy.
This leads one to believe that other Blaster weapons, made by the Corps, would be more accurate. They aren't:
Yakashima Defensor MT Power 7, Penetration 2, Accuracy 3, Ammo 5 Pistol, Range 3, AP 3, Speed 1, Y1000
Mars Ares Gamma Mk3 Power 6, Penetration 2, Accuracy 3, Ammo 5 Pistol, Range 3, AP 3, Speed 1, Y950
Aztek A9 Defender Power 6, Penetration 2, Accuracy 3, Ammo 5 Pistol, Range 3, AP 3, Speed 1, Y999
So the Blasta is in no way deficient compared to the Corps weapons. The Yakashima is slightly more powerful, and the Mars and AzTek offerings are exactly the same. Maybe the Blasta should be deficient? Or maybe the Corp weapons should be more accurate?

You make a good point -- it was intended to be a lesser weapon but in various iterations of balancing it ended up forgotten. Thanks for pointing this out!

Is there going to be blaster model that will come out that will have better penetration than 2?
Can we also have variation with the A9 Defender and Gamma MK3? The Mars version is 40 nuyen less than the Aztek version but they are exactly alike in stats.

nemesis - generally, the rules definition of a blaster is a weapon that has very low penetration, so no, you will not likely see a blaster that has higher than 2 penetration. You may see varieties that continue to increase their damage, but pen will stay low. I will take a look at the two weapons.

A more accurate blaster weapon would be most welcome. I have to train firearms to 8 before I can reliably hit things with the ones we have now, which is a problem as Cava Saint wants me to capture people for him long before I have such skill. (Not to mention the other V-chip connections who like capture missions.)

If I had enough money to hire a runner, I would buy myself some armour instead. Cava Saint wants you to capture Los V fugitives really, really early in his ladder. Plus to get a martial artist you need to have good enough rep to get into the Mars or a Bravestar backroom. Just going to a zone where you can enter one is a pretty scary thought at my current level of development. But is is another reason why we might want the Black Water Saloon in the Commonwealth to be a BS and not a Los V VIP room.

(Not to mention the other V-chip connections who like capture missions.) I was under the impression that you had to stun everyone else before you captured the target. but well, what I do is to kill everyone else first, and taser the guy. I like heat a lot. It makes the sector feel warmer (especially if the denizens hate my guts.)

I think right now the enemies are way too happy to chase your runner while the sniper shoots the target

Ares Gamma Mk4 ------------------ The prototype revision of the Ares Gamma platform, the Mk4 sets a new bar for the non-lethal weapons market. Featuring an integrated SmartTARGET interface, the Mk4 makes target acquisition immediate and pin-point accurate.

The weapon sounds sweet, but do you want to use the name 'Ares'? I thought we replaced all of that string with 'Mars' these days.

Ares was the Greek god of war and as such, I think he's immune to copyright.
Ares weapons are a line of product produced by Mars, Inc.
Do you think that works? Thoughts?

I think it works great. I was just checking that it was intentional, so you don't have to go back and change things later.
