Not really sure if this should go here, but oh well.
On my new Versus Touchpad 7, I tried re-downloading Star Traders. But whenever I try to load it up, even when connected to WiFi, it just says that there was a licensing error. I've tried uninstaling it and reinstaling it, but nothing seems to work. What is the issue?
TA and CK work just fine, though.

Sigh ... yeah, we haven't had time to fix CK and TA to actually require licenses -- lots of pirated copies out there.
Anyway, the most likely cause is that you haven't signed in with the Google account on the device or the LVL modules are disabled / hacked in the ROM you are using.

No, I'm signed in.
What's an LVL module?

Google installs a License Validation Library (LVL) on all Android devices.
Many makers of ROM and even some manufacturers do weird things to the LVL that make it incompatible with Google from time to time.
In this case the game should start if there is no network connection (like in Airplane)

I've tried it in wireless mode, but it's still not working. Is there any way to "fix" the LVL module on my end?

I've tried it in wireless mode, but it's still not working. Is there any way to "fix" the LVL module on my end? It is a new one for me -- almost everyone (99.3%) I have talked to about LVL on the forum or e-mail was ultimately able to make it work. I am sorry to hear about your issues. The device you reference seems to be pretty new and I am having trouble finding much in way of support documentation. What ROM do you have installed? I doubt the root of the issue is ICS, LVL is well tested and supported by Google themselves on all Android versions, however the particular ROM may have bugs. I will see if I can find anything on developer or user forums. I hope we can get it resolved because I'm currently working on adding LVL support to STE (and by proxy, TA and CK.)

I'm honestly not sure. I've had a look but I can't seem to find it. Where will it tell me?

If you don't know which ROM you're using, then either you're a flashing addict like me and have forgotten which one you last flashed, or the odds are very good that you're on the stock ROM. Check Settings>About Phone, you should find info there.

I've looked there, but all it has are:
System updates
Status
Legal information
Model number
Android version
Kernel version
Build number.
Unless I am an idiot and it is one of those, I don't think it's there.
Btw what on earth is "flashing" ROMs?

Flashing is more or less the equivalent of installing a new or modified operating system on a PC. Based on your response, I'm assuming you've made no modifications to your tablet other than installing apps and games, which would mean you're running the stock (factory-loaded) ROM.

After doing some research, I think I'm using the Ice Cream Sandwich ROM, if it helps.

I'm having the same issue, the RPG version works fine, updated to elite and now get this message. I'm running the standard Rom that came with the phone.

Google sometimes has lag, especially on the weekends. If you can send me your purchase details (e-mail / order #) to cory.trese@gmail.com I can investigate with Google. Oftentimes the error goes away after a few minutes. If it doesn't I will try to help and if I can't get it to work I will give you a full refund. Sorry for the trouble

I originally bought it on the 12th but then got a refund when it didn't work. I then rebought it on the 19th and still had the same issue . That would make it Sunday both times I think. Cheers for the prompt reply. I hope you're working on some kind of Trese take on warhammer quest, that would be boss.
