Sorry if this isn't according to forum rules, I'm new. So I accidentally deleted my first taxi drivers. I'm wondering if there's some place to go where I can regain his v-chip. Help is much appreciated.

Help is much appreciated. There is no place I know of where you can get Benny's chip back. But if you head to E-Street Pharmacy in Southie you can get a different taxi driver's chip. There are 3 more that show up as random encounters, one of which is also a ladder reward, and another who lives in a VIP room. Sorry I could not be more helpful, and welcome to the forums.

It should prompt you for confirmation. I'll check to make sure that is there!

Oh, the confirm is there. This has got to be another classic case of why undo is better than confirm -- by the time the OP decided 'no, I don't really want to delete this one' it was already confirmed and gone.
So my question is why would you delete any contact information at all? If the OP has been deleting things that 'don't seem to do anything' and got Benni by mistake, then the OP has probably been deleting perfectly useful Data Hounds who don't say anything useful unless you are carrying the proper sort of paydata. If the future he may wonder how to sell that lovely Aztek data he just found ...
Is deleting contacts really something useful to do, these days?

Good point. Do we really need the option to delete contacts when they might be useful in the future?

I don't do it in general, but I have thought about deleting contacts in the past. (mostly just to clear up things and make it quicker to find the contacts I care about with a character that only does certain things, like killing all the data-hounds for a character who never hacks)
I don't recall ever actually doing it though, I've always been leery of non-reversible deletions. (probably comes from being a computer guy who works on linux/unix professionally)

Perhaps some sort of Archive system would be better? When you "Delete" something, it gets removed from the main section and instead is placed in an archive, if you want a particular contact back, you go to the archive and retrieve it.
This net result of deleting something is achieved, but can be reversed if so desired.

Yes, I didn't actually mean to delete anything! I blame my girlfriend for distracting me haha. I don't really see a point in deleting because I realize that I may need such and such contacts when I acquire certain data. Total accident x.x
Well, I guess I can find some comfort in the fact that there are more taxi drivers out there. I just need to get lucky with a chance encounter I suppose.

If it's any comfort, most of my knights die fairly quickly (and regularly) until they hit the "immortal" stage of the game.
So you may not have this problem for too long!
(because your next char will surely NOT come with a pre-deleted v-chip for Benny)

If you head on over to the South Boston neighbourhood, you will find a store that is the Congress Street Taxi company. I'd start my search for another taxi driver there ...

Maybe would could get a speed dial or some sort of favorites. Every phone I have owned had speed dial on it shouldn't be hard to imagine our CKs having it. That way you have a favorites button that you set underneath the taxis, connectors, data hounds, etc where you can set 6 or so quick contacts so if you are working exclusively for one faction you have the taxis connectors and data hounds you needed right there for instant access.

that's what the buttons on the left are for. Essentially speed keys by category.

that's what the buttons on the left are for. Essentially speed keys by category. I'm aware but it is still not completely convenient especially with a lot of contacts and more continuously added. Back to my phone example, I have my contacts split into groups like work, friends, and family etc. So with 42 family contacts I talk to my mother more than my distant aunt on the other side of the country. That's why I have my mom in my speed dial/favorites.
