Noting the loss of a ship in the ship's log

Having recently lost a ship that I put time and effort into obtaining and upgrading, I was surprised (and somewhat saddened) to see no entry in the ship's log recording its destruction.
Would it therefore be possible to see some kind of record by the Captain, assuming s/he survives, in the log? Maybe something like

'On this sad day, we lost the (insert name of ship) in action against (insert name of House/Syndicate). I, however, escaped the battle by shuttle and will one day exact my vengeance upon her destroyers!'

You get the idea...

That would be a very useful entry in the ship log. I'd second your request here.
