After an encounter (with or without combat), selecting a new waypoint (e.g., from cargo map) registers the new point but doesn't change the autopilot's path plot. In order to update the autopilot you must first stop. This, by the way, brings up two other problems (although not technically bugs). During an autopilot flight, it can be difficult to disengage autopilot; pressing stop doesn't work if the new sector results in an encounter. And second, it would be better if an encounter didn't result in automatic restart of autopilot.

Hey Mordechai - I've been lobbying for auto-disengage of autopilot after an encounter for ages now ... glad to have you add your voice to my banter!

Not sure I'd agree - I'd be sitting pressing "start" all day. The screen shown after combat gives you time to assess the situation and decide if you need to press "stop" after closing it, i've never really found it a problem.
If this is added, at least provide an option to turn it on/off in the settings menu.

I'll third the autopilot thing. I rarely use it, and half the time I end up doing so from inadvertent screen taps, then I'm 6 AU in the wrong direction before the Stop button finally allows me to quit dumping water-fuel out of the nearest airlock just for gits and shiggles, because it's lazy.

I had a contract to go to (32, -10) from Pantenia. The Autopilot refused to plot a route so I set a waypoint to Rychart Prime to help it out, after which it was OK. half the time I end up doing so from inadvertent screen taps, then I'm 6 AU in the wrong direction before the Stop button finally allows me to quit dumping water-fuel out of the nearest airlock I find that much of this is alleviated by selecting the menu option "Double Tap to Move" but there are still times it happens to me. +20 to auto-releasing Autopilot on contact. It's no more hassle to push Start than it is already to push Ignore and then Done every time you meet yet another trader on your way across 38AU of space.

The auto pilot does have a maximum range to save CPU on lower end devices. There are a few routes on the map that it still can't calculate without an ANR on a 1.6 low-end device.
We're always working on improving the game, and I appreciate all your suggestions.
