So I'm playing "crazy" difficulty, and I'm a bit confused as to the process by which ships become available at the stardock.
Does the stardock generate ships according to some formula? I've basically beaten this level, but I'm stuck with a Flagship Carrier -- and I want one of the monster Flagships that has 100 guns (I can't remember what it's called). But none of the stardocks will offer it to me -- and I am a Star Hero and at least lvl 10 military officer with every House/Faction. (When I played at an easier level, this super ship was made available. Maybe my Captain needs a higher rating at harder levels? I think he's level 15.)
One more question:
After you get a powerful ship and lots of cash, can I go take on the Aliens? How do I find them? Do I just hunt around the spots indicated on the "alien attack" rumors? Is there any point to this? Basically, if I have a trade permit/death warrant/military rating with every House, there aren't any more threats to my Captain (minus the occasional Independent pirate or Alien), right?
Two suggestions:
(A) It would be very cool if there was some kind of powerful alien homeworld I could take on as part of a victory scenario. Maybe it unlocks after a certain point, i.e., reaching level 15 or 20.
Alternatively, if creating a planet doesn't work, maybe after the Captain reaches a certain point (experience or cash-on-hand) you could flood the game with Alien ships -- like an Alien Invasion or something. Perhaps in this case the win scenario is defeating X number of Alien ships. Or maybe this is just another part of the game-with-no-end -- that is, once you get a Flagship and a ton of dough, you are basically invulnerable. Would be nice to have that constant challenge.
(B) It would be phenomenal to be able to upgrade ship guns. I know that may defeat the point of some of the differences between ships, but perhaps you could make this only possible for some ships (i.e., Flagship-type ships or whatever) or maybe make it available for every ship but make it nearly prohibitively expensive -- so to really elucidate the trade-off between buying a new ship (or capturing it) vs. buying guns.
Of course, this game rocks. Just a suggestion.
