I would like to see some bonus to the mechanic, especially her crappy repairs which only last to the next encounter. The worst is when she makes a repair, you land, take off, and the damage is back with no opportunity to fix it properly in the star dock.

I like "Privateers" "Spice Cabinet" "Luxury Chamber" "High End Escape Shuttle" I am neutral on "Mechanic's Workshop" and "Templar Armor" Templar Armor is called Leviathan Armor and already exists as an upgrade. Maybe it should stack with the Templar Officer? Leviathan Armor specializes in boarding at zero range. Templar armor increases the overall warrior skill, and might provide a slightly less bonus in terms of boarding zero range but would help in other things warrior skill-related as well. It also provides an additionual warrior bonus for aliens. Currently there are many people complaining about how hard aliens are to defeat. Also you said AI that replaces man is banned. But I'm not talking about self-thinking robots. I mean things like radar upgrades, surveilence camera additions, computer advancements, etc. Even the supercomputer isn't a self-thinking machine that has the AI to take over the ship, but rather the supercomputers we have today, except its on a spaceship.

Bannd in the Law of Shalun:
"Any technolog that enables a machine to speak to a machine without the intervention of man"
I won't say much more than that and certainly cannot debate it at this point because I won't spell out what it all means for the darker secrets of the Quadrant.

Okay no new technology upgrade catagory then. But sometimes I have to patrol a sector 10 times to find a ship. The radar displays info directly to the captain and crew of the ship, so it wouldn't interfere with the shaulan law and it could probably fit in one of the five catagories. Also, cory can you change attachments from posts? I ask because I want the "star traders new upgrades3" attachment to replace te original atachment of my first post.

You can add a link in the first post to the most recent post with the attachment if that's any use.

I haven't been able to figure out a way to update the attachments with ProBoards. I will e-mail there support group but in my experience ... they're worthless

I don't see any box to delete attachment. I don't think that's for modifying posts, but rather at the time you create them.

@starfixer, just wanted to give props for putting so much thought and work into that document. This is one of many reasons I joined this forum, because it's very much a community atmosphere here.

Seriously, the number of awesome suggestions that have come from the forum and e-mail probably exceed my own ability to think things up!
Just awesome -- you guys are the main reason we're still updating and celebrating ST almost 2 years after it was released.

Thanks guys. I just thought of all the things that there's no upgrades for, and made upgrades for them. There's still more I can make. I still made no upgrades that would provide rumor bonuses at spice halls, recruit bonuses, specialized crew for torp/gun targetting, specialized crew for piloting (engines), etc. But I didn't want make a 9 page list, so I just took the most important ones ;D
About the radar enhancement upgrade. I feel it could provide a bonus for avoiding encounters, although many wwho would get an upgrade for patrol wouldn't want an encounter decrease. Maybe the crew could warn the captain that the radar picked up a ship, and the captain can choose whether to ignore it or avoid it. After all, with the radar enhancement you'd see the enemy before they see you.

Looking at the code there is an upgrade that provides encounter avoidance / patrol power increase.
"Towed Stealth Array" ... although I'm a little confused by the name ... might need some investigating!

The code disagrees with you ... it alters the % of encounter chance in the favor of the player for almost all the dice checks.
Patrol increases the chance of hitting "good ships" (That is, Merchants, Smugglers, etc) and for Surviellance/Blockade it Decreases chance of hitting ships ... in deep space it reduces the ship's signature slightly.
This is probably a detail that was left out of the upgrade description for brevity's sake and never made it into the current help file.
I'll check the in-progress help stuff to make sure it is listed in detail

Oh okay. So it increases the chance of getting "good ships" during patrol. I'll remember that if I'm ever playing as a pirate. Also for some reason its called "Omni-Stealth Array" on my phone (Gallaxy Epic 4G).
So do you think any of these upgrades will be put into the game?
