This is something I really, really, really want. And I want it to be part of the starting equipment of CK playing on 'Simple', 'Easy' and 'Normal'. The rest of us will have to buy such things. And what it would do is change the battle display so that it lists the athletics of the monsters, plus the range at which they can attack you, and the AP cost they have to pay for an attack.
You could even make this scalable -- the beginners computer would do a good job at understanding gangers, but if you want the low down on that KH Soldier, you need an upgrade. I think that people are finding the game too hard, even on easy, because they are having a hard time figuring this sort of stuff out for themselves, and keep posting 'this game is too hard' messages to android play ...
Of course, maybe those messages themselves are net-positive advertising. I know that I am interested in combat games that other people find very hard. ;D But I don't think that I am representative of a large segment of the marketplace, just one that is insanely happy with this game, even in its terribly incomplete stage..

this would be a possibility. other one: why not create a tutorial, which features these infos (dogs-> action range of 8 squares, attacks for 3 AP, has 6 AP; and so on for other enemies).
okay, i know, people are incredibly lazy these days. but this could be done quite quick.

grävling - from the comments on the market, a lot of people find CK to be really hard. Cory and I have talked about this implant for a long time. It is a Tactical-Computer Implant, basically a retinal scanner and a tactical chip. Depending on the quality of the chip, you would be able to gain more and more refined information about the stats, capabilities, speed, and health of the enemies you are facing, and eventually (as the really nasty enemies appear) know what types of cyber-ware they might have. I do like the idea that a low-difficulty character would start with a basic Tactical-Computer so that they can get some help out of the gate.

I have been writing one of these for 2 months now. And it is still not finished. The hard part is getting the range of the weapons of the enemies for the guide, as well as their athletics, and the number of APs they need to attack you. If that information was available, I could finish the 'how to survive in the NBZ' guide in a few days. So it is not a cooincidence that this is the info I would like the tracking computer to spit out on enemies. Of course, if somebody provided me with a list of all monsters, their athletics and weapons and the range of the weapons and the AP cost to use them, I could finish this guide up even without the tracking computer. Pictures of the monsters would be good, too. Grävling.

I do like the idea that a low-difficulty character would start with a basic Tactical-Computer so that they can get some help out of the gate. At the very high end, I would like it if, when in battle, the whole part of the screen that says heat/rep/Y/XP and some blank lines was replaced with targettting information. You tap on a monster and get stats about him there. a closeup of his picture, too. Useful for when you know that one of those 2 dogs beside you is out of AP and cannot bite you this round, while the other one still has plenty of AP and is the one you should take out with your taser right now. Learning to use the tactical computer and what its stats are good for will be a lesson in learning how to fight. So give a top of the line computer to all those playing Simple and Easy -- and maybe even Normal. And just make it something to work for for those who play on Harder difficulties. I think that we would loose a lot fewer newbies this way.

grävling - i can work on getting you those statistics! Thanks for the good suggestions about the UX for the Tactical Computer. Sounds like you like the idea (above and beyond needing the info for your guide).

We are very keen to introduce systems that are fully integrated -- for example, the tactical UX has several sub-requirements from a balance and integration standpoint that are essentially "blocking" the release of that UI.
The duration of the request does not necessarily indicate our prioritization nor does it, as one posted noted, indicate that we are trying to be "lazy."
Our biggest goal is to provide a fun and engaging Cyberpunk RPG for Android. That requires a careful focus on game design and sometimes makes the schedule seem unintentionally laggy.
Also, we both have more-than-full-time jobs which limits our ability to execute with the pace we would like.

wait: the two of you develop CK in your spare time? WOW! really impresive! And ST and TA, too. The real question is, do they ever sleep?

damn. i forgot about ST and TA as well. @cory: you don't happen to have gotten your hands one some nice bioware? thos sleep regulators have to be quite awesome ... When I was doing SR3 GM on a regular basis, Sleep Regulator was one of my most despised bioware upgrades. SR can be a brutal game when GM'd in a simulator-style and the Sleep Regulator game some PC a huge advantage over the others!
