thanks a bunch man! it is crazy how much less sophisticated early versions were.

Am I now losing rep and warrants for contracts against independents? ? I keep getting toasts saying the enemy was actually disguised.... its not a good thing since my character was doing great with all factions since I only took contracts against independents. It would be great if this feature was designed in a manner which it could be controlled (tie it to a characteristic, maybe wisdom, and at a certain level it would not happen at all?) Or have the contract marked as "Unknown parties" instead of independent.. it seems redundant since contracts all have assigned factions but independent ones are a crap shoot. (bad intelligence?)
Also I noticed a bug when I entered a star dock many upgrades were offered. Then I backed out of the upgrade screen and it greyed out and now the star dock says -3 upgrades available... This was in Treeth Hive

I've noticed some "one chance" selections in other places as well. I'll start keeping track and post them.
I'm also very curious about all of the new upgrades. I get a message that I cannot install them due to existing upgrades. I'm talking about hings like the water tank and towed stealth array.
I also have upgrades that are no longer on the list, are these defunct now and no longer available for new ships?
Cory, can you put out a description of the new upgrades? Some don't say what they do.

Regarding the conflict between Syndicate and House -- Independents are a bunch of rag-tag nomads living on worthless planets that the Factions don't care about.
The other Faction will always be Syndicate if the Contract is from House or House if the Contract is from Syndicate (or any Faction in an Alliance or Trade Alliance for anti-Merchant contracts.)
I am afraid to say that Independents are only rarely the actual target of a Contract -- something like 30% depending on the Captain's Negotiation and a few other minor notes of other skills, rep and rejection %.
Thinking about the Captain you describe probably has a very high reject %, so is not trusted very much by the fixers in the spice hall or the spy in the palace.
I have noted your feedback and will definitely be listening to you and other players as people pick up v2.9.0

That does explain a bit, still not sure why when I accept a House or Syndicate bs Independent contract for delivery or escort, I finish the contract only to be told that it was an opposing Syndicate or House acting in disguise, and then I lose rep, and either my permit or warrant or both with that faction...
I specifically reject the contracts between the houses/syndicates to raise rep evenly with this captain, and it seems in 2.9.0 this new feature was added that 'surprises' me with false contract targets.. hopefully this can maybe get changed back? It never happened until i updated
Also, what does the upgrade in the Torpedo section for Stealth Module (or Sensor Module, as referenced in the award description) actually do?

Hi Cory
It seems you have solved the Wildfire problem, which is great. It means I can finally get back to playing the game.
Tho, It still seems like the death rate on exploring planets is very high. Does a high rate of crew death affect morale or hiring of crew? Plus (and I apologise if this has already been covered) will you be adding some kind of weapons or equipment help modifier to exploring planets. I.E: the better equipment you have on board cutting down on deaths but not actually affecting your cache discovery.
Also, is it not possible to put the cargo and water upgrades on a separate list? If not, no worries. Just curious.
Thanks Richard

I'm talking about hings like the water tank and towed stealth array. along the same line, i saw an upgrade for the engines (the +6 one located under the armor upgrades). i had the money for it, but it wouldn't let me purchase it. it didn't say that it me to be a military officer.

Right now, I'm a ranked soldier with no cargo upgrades or torpedoe upgrades and enough cash for the upgrade, but the option to buy the cargo upgrade under the torpedoe section shows as available but greyed out.

The Cadar Prime capital is labeled "Cedar Capital City" - I think this is a typo Great work on all the bugs and improvements!

that's fixed in the next release but you'll probably not be able to see it.
requires a re-install to update the database.
the next time i change the database (hopefully never) I'll fix it.
---
The Cadar people love the Trandeorean Cedar tree, and build everything they can out of it.
That's why Cadar always buys plants (Cedar trees) for more $$$.
Thus, many citizens of Cadar use the loving term "Cedar Exchange" or whatever to refer to a Cadar building constructed from nano-armored cedars.
[[whew, that's a lot of BS to cover up a typo]]
