Hey Cory et. al., Long time free user just picked up Elite due to receiving my new Nexus 7. Haven't played in a while, so when I installed it I was surprised to see that the sector markers are no longer being drawn (i.e. the red/green markets in the star map are missing). Unfortunately, when I go back to my rooted Nook color, they are still there, so this looks like a bug.
Not sure what other info you need (16 GB Nexus 7, pretty much stock, not rooted).
Cheers, Yz

I think this can be changed in the settings menu. Have you checked there that it's turned on?

The only setting that seems relevant is "Enabled transparency" setting, but toggling it makes no difference.

I had this issue when I changed screen density on my phone, but you'd have to have root access to do that, so it's probably not the issue you're having.
I'm tired of customizing sigs every time I flash a ROM. This time it's plain old Torp City!

I will see what I can do -- it seems to be working fine on the Nexus 7 we used for testing.
Is this Google Play or Amazon edition?

PS: Just asked another Nexus 7 owner and she's getting the sector markers on both Green/Red playing on Google Play's version of the game.
I'll do some more testing and see if I can figure anything about. Are you playing Landscape? What options do you have set? What ST version?

I'm running v4.5.5 from the Google Play store. I've tried landscape and portrait (though I prefer portrait), with no options set (thought I've tried numerous things like fullscreen, enable transparency, disable both backgrounds, disable both scrolls with no luck). Bizzare that other Nexus 7 users seem to be okay - mine is about as stock a it comes!

Am I screwed then? Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this (logs, etc)? Are there any other Nexus 7 user experiencing the same issue?

I will definitly work on it and try to figure out why it isn't working on your device. I know that at least a few Nexus 7 users are playing without issues.
I have fixed hundreds of device specific issues with Android devices running custom ROM, old OS, stock OS and everything in between.
Logs and Screenshots very well may help, I will also ask some of the other users on Nexus 7 that I e-mail with to send me them if they have time.
No ETA and no promises tho -- just that I have logged the issue as ST-442

No pressure! I get a few more cases of solar radiation, but since I only ever play hard and up it's like an extra challenge!

First time player here. I logged on to ask if the red/green markers were removed from the game and found this thread. I'm also using a Nexus 7. No root, no task killers, nothing fancy. I've disabled some of the foreign keyboards that come pre-installed (Korean and Chinese or similar), but otherwise everything is plain vanilla Nexus 7.
I'm not able to see the red/green markers at all. I've tried disabling the background image and enabling the transparency, but I can't get the markers to reappear. It seems like they'd be helpful. Of course, I'm so new to the game that I'm making rookie mistakes anyway.
