One commentator on the market said that version 2.8.5 is "As fun as slamming your fingers in a door."
That's pretty clever. I'm glad that ever the people that hate ST RPG hate it enough to be clever about it.
I hope everyone is enjoying this weekends updates as much as I am.
I admit that I do not read the guide very much but I play *way too much* Star Traders RPG.
My current character Thuxux Javat just passed 6000 turns on "Insane"
Fun run, time to try another shot at 6000 turns on "Impossible" =)

If it helps any, I find it to be considerably more fun than slamming my fingers in a door, not that I've ever tried that kind of thing.

Please realize that most games on the Android market could be played by a lobotomized chimpanzee. This game is a sandbox game in the same league of complexity as most PC games. I'm surprised you haven't tried making the jump to making a PC version yet.
That said I did want to let you know of two typos in the Player's Guide (shouldn't it be higher than version 3.0?):
"Surveillance creates Records rich with information which are directly deposited into yoru Cargo Hold, if there is available space."
In the area near the end talking about Water-Fuel consumption: "The ratio in v2.2 is more tightly controlled than previous versions, but a single solar sail damage can make a big difference." Shouldn't that be v2.8.5?
Otherwise the guide looks great but is there still a minor penalty for refusing an offered mission? Anyway, thanks for the great game. There is nothing like plundering planets for treasure while waiting in lines at the Wal Mart.

One commentator on the market said that version 2.8.5 is "As fun as slamming your fingers in a door." a) I'm sure this person was looking for a simple game that required you to slice birds in half or heave pieces of fruit at poorly-designed structures. b) Did this person not even read the description of the game???

One of the bugs in the Ship Log - when you buy (swap in) a new ship, for example from Vae Victus to Mars Class, the entry reads "The Mars Class has flown her last with us and I am now Captain of the Mars Class." I think the code generating this has a wrong reference.
Loving the game, keep up the great work. Wish there was an button to resume last heading course after an encounter, so i wouldnt have to keep scrolling over to where I wanna travel and tapping it. I get interrupted by merchants and smugglers so much it gets frustrating on long journeys through Deep Space, especially since you can only set a course on the non-Zoom map... maybe an auto-pilot to heading button would be easier to implement?? It pops up with the bridge button (optional as well?)

Right now I'm not throwing away the current navigation path out of spite.
For now, I am clearing it out because I'm worried about memory exhaustion and stuff.
Kelvin & Exavion --- Thank you very much for the bug reports! Expect to see them fixed in the next release.

I'd also like to say that not very long ago you could only move one space at a time, so some of the UX elements are still catching up to the map revolution.
I assume that eventually I'll have the map efficient enough to be super-smooth and then work towards more persistent waypaths. To the future!

Yes, and he is SO happy he just recieved an order to paint the ship bright pink because it matches his Captain's ensemble so well! (Current morale of 3)

wormholewillie: I think he looks like a hardcore spacer man. =) He does look angry, hehe. Something funny about his nose, and the mustache looks like a stray space critter, but it's nice to have the art. Is he the first mate?
