there are quite a number of issues i have found myself haviing about this awesome game, some of which i shall decide to point out for the good of me and hopefully everyone else.. for the past three days i have found mysedlf itching closer and closer to the upgrade button but a lot of factors have come together to make me finally decide to sign up for this forum and make this post. first of all, i have to say this game was an awesome idea from the cory brothers. the graphical limitations are incredible in that it allows low end devices such as my galaxy y duos benefit from such a monumental shift in the typical android gaming experience (imo), and at such it still manages to maintain some form of experience which while still nostalgic, carries with it a lot of new innovations. bravo.
BUT i seem to be confused is there a plot that can be followed through for any of the characters YET?...ive been seen "we are working on it"posts for the past one year now.(literally) on these forums. but still no dice. i would love to kniw if i decide to put in some form of commitment to this project it would be something worthwhile, please can we have a date for the storylined update, and will it work for devices that support the sandboxed beta? then is there any tutorial out there(anywhere at all?? i would expect it to be stickied somewhere around here...that is if the forum doesnt support it...) that can describe the fighting mechanics in detail and stat attribution as per how it affects the othe aspects of the game? like for instance i do not seem to understand why angent ex can only move three squares in a firefight regardless of ap. its probably a basic reason, but i do not know this.
i have lots of other little nitbits but they are probably redundant. i love your game and i love the way you handle suggestions. i really want to pay good money for this app.
thanks.

The tutorial is being worked on -- by users in this forum -- right now- I've only been at if for about 2 days now, and am stalled because mylaptop died. This should be the first real test of the story telling mode.

Your agent x problem is that AP does not determine how many squares you can move when you select move. It determines how many times you can select move, or attack in a phase in a round. The stat that determines how many squares you can move is athletics. If you can move 3 squares in a row your athletics is 3. With one of 4 you can move 4 squares in a row. 8 is the max number of squares you can move even with a larger athletics value. This is in the help file under Movement Speed. We will try to make this more clear in the new tutorial. Please post about other things you find confusing. It is hard for me to remember what confused me when I was new.
Also remember that the Trese Brothers are doing this work in their spare time, so things take longer than they would if this was their full time jobs.

interesting. i have seen the tutorial suggestion thread, and i think its a great idea. but since that would take a while is there any comprehensive guide out there that would dig much more deeper into game mechanics than a concise tutorial?...or has nobody thought of doing that yet?.. also im not sure if its me, but noone seems to share their gaming experience on here...i was expecting to see stories of how people started out and stuff. but oh well

Instead of writing a more comprehensive tutorial, I end up answering a lot of questions on this forum. I NEED DAYS WITH MORE THAN 24 HOURS IN THEM!

thanks a lot for the movement tip. i honestly dont know how i overlooked it. also in a later update please try to add a scroll bar for some of the dialogue that spill out of the dialogue box. i can see nothing of what my character is saying when he firsts starts the game after the intro, and i believe it gets really frustrating later on during a nice conversation...i understand it has to do with multi platform support issues and stuff but please consider.
thanks

P.S how come the story hasnt beeen able to have been finished for ONE year though . wow. its either very awesome or very long ....can you guys share how close the release of the story update is? ^_^ You have to have the game mechanics working first -- otherwise you have a story but no game. Which is, of course, ok if this is what you want -- interactive fiction does this all the time. Cory will have to let you know -- roughly -- when he expects the first story lines to go in. I think it is going to be the tutorial introduction, though. One thing you need to know is that of all the tasks involved in getting a game written, the one that the Trese brothers find the hardest is writing English prose. Right now Cory is involved in a big push to update the guide for Star Traders. And people in those forums are helping fix the thing as he writes it. Something like this could happen around here, but I feel that it would be torture to insist that the poor man embark on two huge documentation efforts simultaneously. We have to let him have some time to do the things he loves doing, too. But this is too much to have to type on my phone. I must see about getting a replacement computer while my beast is getting repaired.

As for a guide, the help files already have quite a bit of detail on the game mechanics. For instance, it explains how AP is calculated, and stat maximums for different characters, and movement, and how cyber modifications affect your ability to gain experience points. If you can explain what you think is missing, people here can help and Cory can decide whether it needs to go into the help files. Several additions to the help files have come from questions on the forum.

This includes the tutorial, which will be part of the story mode. It is only a few months ago that they implemented nanotech and hard armor, which was an important feature that had been missing. So it looks to me from the outside like they are getting pretty close to having story mode and full release.

neodipo - as the other forum members have pointed out, getting the game and all its systems working has continued to take precedence over finishing a story for a long time. Cyber Knights was released very early to BETA, and we have spent now more than a year actually building the game. This has allowed us to take in a huge amount of input from the community, but yes -- it has taken a long time! Of course, story mode was imagined when we got this train rolling, but it has also taken a long time. To get out of BETA, one of our requirements is a story. The tutorial story is currently in work (25% done), as is a second story which I am about 50% finished with. We have to keep balancing the decision of spending our time (which is limited) on advancing the story or building out the remaining systems (Encounters, Hacking). Let's say it this way--by the end of 2012, there will be a story available in CK. It won't take another year to get there. Thanks for your feedback and we'd love to hear more from you.

Thanks for your support @ahab and grävlingOne of the things we remain dedicated to is the availability of most of the game in a Free version so if you think that $2 is too much to commit to the project, you can keep playing and enjoying the game without paying a dime. We always update Free and Elite at the same time, never delay Free and avoid ads, in app purchases and all other anti-player actions. I really appreciate all the work that grävling has done posting comprehensive player guides, starting guides and strategy posts along with absimiliard and many other excellent contributors.

Beyond the obvious, as is as an open ended game where you can make your own storyline. Freeform its worth the price . I believe tracking had a pretty good post along these lines not too long ago. So give that a try and learn this great game, and create your own story at the same time.
