Is Bull Tish!! I went from +16 in the clan Javat to -136 just for selling 70 (1 sale)crystals to the wrong alliance after everything I did for them..these thing pop up at the worst times..I was doing alright with that captain, too just saving for my first decent ship. So id thought I'll try to atone for my sins against them and Wyden the interceptor gave m the option to acknowledge I thought sound..GAME OVER!!

Check for trade embargoes after landing, before selling or buying, in the Conflicts screen. This way you won't get caught unaware again. I personally do this all the time, especially before selling restricted goods.
I'm tired of customizing sigs every time I flash a ROM. This time it's plain old Torp City!

If you can, get a political officer - they warn you about embargoes when you land on a planet so you don't have to worry about checking the faction conflicts screen or forgetting something.

...and you shouldn't have been able to acknowledge a ship if your rep was so low with them - you should have seen a 'surrender' button instead.

I am still chasing this bug and looking for ways to improve Conflict notification.

Yeah if there was a (maybe optionally set in the Options menu?) button in the exchange screen to Check Trade Conflicts (followed by a Back to Exchange button?) I would use that every time.
As it is I have to go back to Status and a few more buttons onwards and scroll through all the Alliances etc to see if I will get into trouble. Sometimes if I am feeling lazy I will buy one Water-Fuel and see if anyone gets upset before offloading the 50 or so Artifacts, as that can really ruin your day during an Embargo.

How hard would it be to colour code the entries in your hold based on whether selling them would violate any embargos?

This is now ST-460.
Goes well with another enhancement request I entered that switches the Political Officer from warning you about embargoes to helping you offset the Reputation penalty when they are on board.

You're forgetting her Negotiation bonus.
