Since we have military, political, exploring, mechanical, and our trusty first mate. Shouldn't we be able to hire a medical officer to heal our captains during flight, much like how the mechanic repairs the ship during flight.
Space travel is a dangerous place, and a doctors calling. With dangerous expeditions, corrupt officials, and bloody space battles. A medical officer can be a captains best friend on long expeditions.
Just my thoughts.

Good idea. We should start a thread to give all possiblities of other kinds of officers that should be added to the game. Doctor might even prevent crew from being killed by solar hazards, but differentiated by the fact it doesnt fix the sails?

A science officer could help you locate upgrades or make your installed upgrades more effective. He (or she) could also potentially be useful when it comes time for cybernetic upgrades for you captain, or could provide specific bonuses based on research they conduct on all the strange and wondrous things you encounter throughout your travels (such as aliens)
