I am curious which difficulty level is your favorite to play.
I vote for Insane, I play on Impossible but it isn't good for testing. =)

Well i am still currently on difficulty demanding or difficult as it was used to be called. Should be moving on to crazy or hard as i finally had a character have full positive rep with all the 6 factions as a bounty hunter and now i am just roaming the world bullying weaker ships and laugh at the independent pirate's attempt to loot me

Interesting. I might open a poll about how many people attempt to keep positive status with all factions. I often just stick with 2.
I love love love reading about how people play the game, helps me.

Demanding, says this one. I get too many far off contracts too early in the game for my liking otherwise. I'm a cautious Captain, and that way lies danger!

imho for non combat captains (merchants, explorers) its hard to play beind hated criminal for fast or fighting clases (smuggers, pirates, bounty hunters, officers) - you can handle that
for some period of time i played at difficult (demanding now) now trying and trying all the time on crazy, and i see that on lower levels even lvl 5 pirate/bounty hunter are harder to beat by millitary officer by boarding than by shoting him down by pirate/bounty hunter

I enjoy demanding.. I would love to know the implications of the difficulty levels. I know there is a small description, but knowibg captain cory, there is certainly more than meets the eye.

I currently play on Insane difficulty as a level 11 Pirate. I am friends (all permits and rank) with 4 factions and total war with 2 (-150 rep). I really enjoy the fact that I run into much higher level enemies than me, it makes it more of a challenge, because it makes you feel like your not the best captain out there, like there are far more experienced and elite captains out there and you just might have to meet them. Usually these fights are the ones that are the most intense and really reward my imagination as a player the most.
Impossible mode will be up next.
Just my thoughts.

I play at Hard with decent success and occasionally kill off a Captain on Crazy. My Explorer is keeping everyone happy, with better relations for the Houses than the Syndicates. My Bounty Hunter is great friends with everyone but the disgusting Steel Song clan. My Cadar Military Officer was friends with only his blue and gold brothers. Was.

I for one, love the normal difficulty lol Maybe I just have REALLY bad luck, but I can't seem to get a pilot past level 10 on anything harder. Usually due to running out of funds. can't afford a sail repair, and run out of water, and die from my crew. Am I doing something wrong? lol On Normal I dont ever seem to have a problem with dying, so I stick with it. (unless there are aliens involved) I do try playing different difficulties about twice a week, and play until I kill them off, then go back to my two normal captains for fun.
