I started a new char, Female 2 Sniper, brutal. I did not head to corp land on day 1 -- my intent was to develop this one the slow way and test your starter fights in LV and Streets.
Alas, I investigated my first rumour in Copley Square on day 1. I was attacked by an attack dog and 1 green shirt and promptly died. (Okay, investigating rumours before you have any decent gear is a bad idea. And I understand that you haven't been balancing the Yakuza, but my reaction really was -- I have forgotten how completely worthless the Scout Carbo Mag is, especially when compared to the lightfire that all the other female 2 professions start with). Maybe there is some game balance problem there?
Ok, off to make another f2 sniper. ;D

grävling -- all balancing is currently focused on Los V and the Streets. The Yak are going to be just as nasty until we get around to them. I will take a look at the starting EQ as well, since some classes get goodies and others get semi-duds.

i agree with Graving here..the yak are broken as is and seriously need a little tweaking. i started a new knight and entered yakuza land looking for easy creds and paydata.upon logging out of the terminal i was promptly met with about 8 yaks that werent happy to see me. my point is avoid everything but the los vals and irishman early on unless you are a pro.

Faction Cop - thanks for the feedback. I am basically working my way up the ladder from easiest (gangs) to harder (security and criminals next). So, Yakuza is in the next 3, maybe even in the next update. The early game fights will get easier, but the later game fights will still be much harder than in the gang territory, by design.

Yak is one of the toughest security tier, and even after balancing won't be a place to send a "New CK"

More playing, more dead knights. (well, I was testing how easily it was to die).
And that is my conclusion. You may have balanced the wrong thing. The problem with early days is not mostly 'It is too hard to kill the baddies' -- the thing that your fix addresses in a really good way. It is 'it is too easy for the baddies to kill me'. Which might not be how your complaints read, but I think that people are more worried about the fact that they are so fragile that they are easily killed while they are figuring out how to fight, rather than the monsters are too hard to kill.
By the time you learn that a weapon that has speed 1 is not what a newbie CK wants or needs, somebody has split your skull open. Staying alive until you figure this out seems to be the problem around here.
