Now that 'Listen' is a useful thing, what I find myself wishing I could do when in a backroom is go there, try to locate a runner I want to rehire, and then listen for rumours while I am trying to locate her (or him, but you know which runners I want to rehire. ;D )
Unfortunately the 'Listen' button and the 'Locate' button are on different screens. I figure if I have to sit around all day waiting for Whit Red to be finished whatever it is she is doing, before we can go out on missions again, then I ought to be able to pick up some decent rumours while I am waiting. As it stands now, it's too cumbersome.
Here is what I would like:
You go to a backroom. You press the button for 'locate runner' and then try to locate all the runners you are interested in. Press the buttons for them once. That's enough. You get told that 'The word has gone out on the street that you are interested in meeting with Whit Red (or whoever you want to hire) here in this bar.' Maybe getting the message out costs you some money, too.
Then you go back to the main screen, start listening and drinking vudka.
Some time later, one of those 'Somebody new has walked into the bar' messages will announce that -- ta da! -- Whit Red (or whoever you want to hire) has walked in. Strike up a conversation with her to hire her.
If you leave the bar, your pending 'I would like to meet with' get cancelled. So if you want to hire 2 of 3 possible runners, you can hire the first 2 that show up. The last one was just too late.
