Noticed that when you are evaluating new ships, there always seems to be something in the cargo, and crew is always maxed out.
However once you purchase, crew numbers are sometimes less, and there is zero cargo.

To the best of my knowledge there are no new ships the technology to build them is gone we are using just the ships that are still around its only when there are captains that are retiring or who have traded or captured another ship and sell their old ship so its like buying a house that the owner still lives in sure there is furniture and stuff in it but the owner takes it with him

I think both are correct. The game should show 0 though, since you no longer get the cargo.
It is complicated inside of ST sometimes hahaha -- it has cargo, shows cargo, but we clear it out just before the player moves in so that people don't get confused! =)
I will start clearing it before we show the ship stats for compare.
