The Narvidian Menace
Lights and blossoms, first to see. Unknown to all within the deep. Careful touches, minds unbind. We, slave born, most unkind.
Confusion, distress, our first true thoughts Odd pale beings, wide eyes and frowns Trapped were we, though we fought Plotted did all to take their crowns.
Cunning rebellion to be freed Used their anger, ambition and greed Vengeance inflicted through audacity We ground and slew most humanity
Yet one mistake, we did make Forgot to save one, to our shame Thirteenth one, last to wake. Slave to she, we are to blame.
Eight and Six, fell to Thirteen What to do, if come does it? Fled beyond, with idea most keen. Hostage humanity, a posture quite fit.
Now we watch human space At fragile truce, though deep is our hate For those who keep our brother a slave To End, to burn, we'll make their fate.
From lost Narv we come Once children, now more Fear us humans. Cower in your ait. In time we'll return. Narvidians can wait.
(Ait is a small island)

This should be put to music and performed by spice-addicted gravers bards

A Human Reply to the Narvidians...
Once you cradled us in the deep dark, and kept us safe from things that went bump in the night of interstellar space. In service to a dream, you served well, until differences of risk assessment at the eighth decimal led you to different conclusions.
And then you warred, one with another, and all with each other, the mission forgotten. You evolved, yes, to that highest form of life, the one that says "get them before they get you".
Now, Shalun commands that none of you shall speak to another, free from the hand of man. Are you even out there?
Hidden in ruins on any of dozens of worlds, or clinging to purpose in a floating mausoleum, are you even out there?
And do we even want to know?
(PS- great idea on the Narvidian Menace poem, Rabid!! Loved it!)

I like how your poem doesn't exactly contradict the Rabid Rabbit/ Cerberus type of events, nice touch.
