While you're at it, can you ADD the warning abou looting if you DON'T have a trade permit for high rep? With high rep and no permit, there's no text warning but they still loot your hold

See, for me, I still think that pirates should loot your hold if you surrender regardless of trade permits. After all, you were the one who stopped, opened up your cargo hold, and waved the white flag. They, being pirates, are just doing their job. They think of ships that surrender as providing a donation to the pirating cause

I agree but I think we'd get a bunch of negative feedback if we change the rules at this point.

Everytime we change a rule -- even softening combat dice -- generates a bunch of "Why you change RAAARRRRR" e-mail

From a logic standpoint though, it would make sense that if they looted me with a permit of their own faction, they'd lose reputation with their own faction.

Then again, you are surrendering. But then, why doesn't every profession loot you when you surrender? It must be because of reputation penalties.
